mario's great adventure

Last Sunday Brett and I decided to take his dog, Mario, to the beach for a little fun. It was raining the entire drive out to the beach but we were determined to give him an adventurous day. We drove to the first beach we had in mind but it was raining really hard. We got back on the freeway and drove a little farther north and found a new beach with patches of blue sky and sunshine.

The day actually turned into a really nice afternoon and the clouds cleared up for a little bit to let us relax on the sand. After that we took Mario around the 'downtown' area and did a little window shopping. Before heading home we stopped and sat outside to have a drink and a little snack.

I think Mario really enjoyed his day, what do you think? :]

a west coast fall

Almost everyday this week after work on my drive home, I saw the most beautiful red, orange and yellow leaves on all the trees. Since I knew the weekend had rain on the agenda I made sure to get out before the rain and wind blew all these beautiful colors away! I just got out in time to take some amazing pictures.

It's not just New England that has beautiful fall colors. :]

Today I thought I would share with you a little something I can't live without. Amongst all the technology devices we have today to keep track of our important  and hectic schedules and as much as I am a huge tech junkie, I simply cannot function without my amazing life planner.  It also happens to be almost the end of the calendar year and I am so excited that I just ordered my new planner, due to arrive next week! This is easily my fourth or fifth planner and I just wanted to share with you how important it is for my daily life.

Erin Condren is the fabulous designer of these expressive, colorful and completely customizable planners! While I use my phone for just about everything, I still need to be able to write down and keep track of my day to day activities. I took some pictures of my current planner to share with you below. As you can see it has a very nice and durable spiral spine to hold everything together. It also has bright colors, bold fonts and inspirational quotes to keep you going throughout the year! I literally want to sit and doodle in my planner all day.  Did I mention that it’s personalized? Ok good! I swear, if I could have my name scrawled across every product I own, I would be so much happier.

She also makes so many other amazing and customizable invitations, teacher lesson plans, personalized note pads { again with my name} gift labels and now one of my favorite additions is her new Sorority Line!

carmel by the sea

It's hard to believe sometimes that we are already in November. Last night I saw not one, not two, but three houses with Christmas lights up and on already. Come on people let's try to enjoy some fall weather and some rain before we put up the lights, okay? Okay, that's all for ranting today :]

Anyway, I just wanted to share with you some pictures from when my friends and I recently went down to Carmel for the night. We walked down into town and had a really nice dinner, then came back and played games and watched a movie before bed. In the morning when we woke up it was the most beautiful day you could ever imagine. We walked back into town for some breakfast at this amazing little cafe then kept walking down to the beach. As you can see a lot of other people had the same idea as the beach was so crowded! It was the perfect overnight get away with friends after working all week.

carving pumpkins

Happy Halloween everyone! I hope that you all had a wonderful Halloween weekend. {plus 1!} This year I decided I wanted to carve lots of pumpkins, so on Sunday evening we cleared the decks, put on some Halloween music and got to work. I think my 'scaredy-cat' is my favorite, what do you think? Brett's owl also turned out so amazing! One of my pumpkins however seemed to have eaten a little too much candy.. scroll to the bottom and you will see what I mean. :]

Monday night was so much fun seeing all the little kids come to the door to trick or treat. We had over 100 people this year and almost ran out of candy. I think my favorite was two little girls from my neighborhood went as a squirrel and an acorn, so cute! What were some outrageous or original costumes you saw this year?
