french fries, beer and baseball

Being a part of a sorority was such a life changing and wonderful experience that I knew I wanted to continue to embrace this sisterhood after my college days. I found an alumni chapter right here in my hometown, called the Silicon Valley Phi's. They try to get together once a month and put on or host some events so the ladies  can get together and spend time and enjoy eachother's company. With my boyfriends mom's also a fellow phi and member of this alumni group we decided to take advantage of this upcoming event and supported our local minor league baseball team, The San Jose Giants! Going to the games are so much fun, you can usually score some free tickets or pay a small price for a seat. They have big bbq's going, bars set up and some amusement type games for the kids. It was the perfect evening as the sun set during the game. Also when the game was over they had an amazing 15 minute firework show! All in all, I'd say it turned out to be a great night out.

wardrobe update

I have been trying to clean out my closet and get rid of quite a lot of items that I haven't worn in ages, don't fit me properly.. and so on. I have been going through tons of other websites and blogs to get some inspiration before I took to the mall. I just wanted some fresh new clothes to update my wardrobe and pull me out of my "fashion funk" as I think I was having. I am really loving this kind of 80's trend with bright colors and slouchy shirts, as well as making a statement with floral as you can see in a dress, shorts, and top. My new collection consists of 3 pairs of shorts, a dress, 2 cardigans, two white tops, a crop floral tank, 2 crop slouchy t-shirts and 2 stripe tanks. Let me know, love it? or hate it?

happy father's day, daddy!

Happy Father's Day to my one & only Daddy :]
We were able to go out and have a really nice {but productive} day, we started the day with some breakfast at one of our favorite breakfast spots. It is so conveniently located next to a flower nursery so we walked around and got some new plants to put in our garden. I then wanted to make a stop and pay tribute to a couple dad's who are no longer with us, so I bought some flowers and took them up to the cemetery. Then we finished the evening by putting dad to work and having him BBQ up some dinner and enjoy the rest of this extremely warm and calm day.

I want to dedicate this post to all the fathers,  who are with us and not with us. I know today is a difficult day for a few close families to me, so this is for them.

I hope the rest of you all had a very nice day/evening with your families and friends close to you!

san francisco

It seems like I have been making an awful lot of San Francisco trips lately, I hope your not getting tired of the pictures. I'm trying to switch them up for you so you can experience all the different hot spots of the city. Honestly though, if there is a nice day in the city (and by nice, I mean no fog) it is mandatory to capture it. And with our out-of-town guests visiting, a San Francisco visit is a must. We walked through the city and made sure they were able to take some great pictures of Alcatraz and the Golden Gate. And as you can see the elephant seals were soaking up some sun as well. We also decided to walk down Lombard Street instead of drive and although it was fun to walk down.. my legs have been sore for daaaays, I tell you. Days! We also rewarded ourselves with a Ghiradelli treat. Those things do not come in small quantities nor the price, but it's all about the experience.. right?

the graduation party

Now that the tears have been shed, the hugs have been given and the speeches have been heard, it's time to celebrate! After his graduation ceremony, followed by lots of pictures, it was time to set up for the party. Unfortunately it wasn't the nicest of days and the clouds were threatening but we managed to have a wonderful party for the new graduate and helped him celebrate in style! Here are a few pictures I took from the party. The cake was absolutely amazing, a chocolate cake with rasberry filling.

time, where did you go?

It's amazing how fast they grow up, right? I sound like an old lady but I definately felt proud this morning when I saw these boys, some of which I was their swim coach when they were only ten years old, walk across the stage to receive their diploma. Unfortanately it was a cold morning but even those little drops of rain couldn't stop these boys from celebrating their special day. I felt so honored to be there for Nick and his family and to take part in his special day. It feels like he is my little brother at times :] In case you ever read this... Congratulations and I love ya!

people still YoYo?

Hi loves!
I must apologize for my lack of blog posts for quite some time. I'm terrible, I know :[ But you will soon see that I have been quite the busy bee and I have some wonderful blogs with lots of pictures to make up for it!

So.. a couple weeks ago I went up to San Fran for the night to see this comedian, Natasha Leggero. She has been on the Chelsea Lately show on the guest panel and she is absolutely, hilarious. We caught the later show and headed up after work on a Friday. I wish I had some pictures to show you, but they were so strict about phones and cameras. I pulled my phone out for one minute and a security member came straight up to me and told me to "put it away" okay guy, calm down. But just take my word for it and go check her out on youtube. I think my favorite part about the show was how much interaction she had with the audience. She was asking people questions and making fun of them, which made the show more personal and intimate.

So the next morning it was a pretty nice day so we decided to do a little shopping and walking around. We ended up at this park in North Beach and there was a yo-yo convention, thing happening. Yeah, people still play with them apparently. There were people of all ages with these ridiculous yo-yo's doing all these tricks. Rememebr 'walk the dog'? Yeah, that's all I remember too.. So we watched for a little bit, found a candy store and drove home :]
